12 Days of Christmas Appetizers Pt 9 ๐
The dough for the Camembert bread crown is easy to make and exactly the same as that for my pitta bread (you can find this on the 3rd post at the top of my page) Dough: 320 ml water 7 g instant yeast 15 g sugar 500 g Strong/bread flour 1 x teaspoon salt Cheese filling: 2 x Camembert 1 x Garlic clove, sliced โโRosemary (coat in oil to stop burning) Cranberries Honey Black pepper Garlic butter 30g butter, melted 1 x garlic clove, crushed Parsley Bread topping 1 x egg Rock salt Sauce with cranberries Add the lukewarm water, instant yeast and sugar and mix, then add the flour and salt and mix again. Mix until combined. Place the dough on a floured surface and knead for 5 to 10 minutes until smooth. Oil a clean bowl and the top of the cling film place the dough in the bowl and cover with the oiled cling film. Rest for 1-1.5 hours. (If it’s cold at home you can put it in the oven with the light on) Once risen, unzip the dough and shape it into a ball. Cover for 5 to 10 minutes while you prepare the cheese filling and add parchment paper to a large baking dish (grease the base before the paper so that it does not move). Add the ball to the dish and using your two index fingers (flour your fingers) with both hands, make a hole in the middle, then using only two fingers, swirl them inside to create a hole larger, use your hands to stretch the hole and insert the first pie chart. Cut it as directed and stuff it with minced garlic, cranberries and oiled rosemary. Garnish with honey and black pepper. Add the next pie chart and do the same. Cover with a cloth and leave to rest for 30 minutes while your oven heats to 210 C. After 30 minutes, using scissors, score the dough as indicated at the side angle, brush with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse salt. . Bake at medium-low temperature at 210ยฐC for 7 minutes, then lower to 180ยฐC and bake for a further 25 minutes. Heat the butter with the crushed garlic then add the parsley and spread over the bread straight out of the oven, add a little cranberry on top of the cheese, let it sit for 5 minutes and enjoy this gooey cheese (don’t forget the pieces at the bottom ๐) D ๐ซถ #camembert #christmas #starters #bread
